Evaluation
The following language and cognitive skill areas will be assessed within a comprehensive evaluation:
Speech & oral function
Phonological processing
Visual processing of symbols
Oral language (receptive and expressive)
Written language (reading and writing)
Executive functioning
Evaluation results are used to determine need for therapeutic intervention, generate meaningful goals, and recommend accommodations and supports, if applicable.
Evaluations are accompanied by a detailed consultation with the child's family to explain results and discuss opportunities for collaboration and support.
Therapy
Sessions can occur in-person or virtually, both within your home. Local clients may request to meet in a community setting.
Speech-language treatment, with a strong basis in integrating cognitive skills (e.g., Sumpter's Cognitive Processing model for academic learning) is used to address specific skill deficits to achieve short- and long-term goals.
All sessions emphasize an emotionally supportive and positive therapeutic dynamic.
Consultation
Have questions about speech and language development, or the connection between language skills and literacy?
Collaborative consultation is offered to families who are interested in receiving education and recommendations, including ways to support literacy advancement at home, and services they might seek for their children.
Consultations are offered for a 60-minute session. They do not include any formal testing or development of goals, nor are any official reports generated.
Upon scheduling, families will receive paperwork to be completed prior to the consultation date. Schedule offerings are flexible for the client's convenience.
Rates & Policies
I do not currently accept insurance. If you wish to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, I can provide a superbill on a monthly basis. As an NCSEAA provider, I am able to accept ESA+ funds. Personal checks, HSA/FSA, and credit card payments are currently accepted.
$400 - Includes up to four hours of face-to-face testing, detailed evaluation report with plan of care and individualized goals, and an additional 30-minute virtual parent/caregiver consultation to discuss the assessment, the child’s strengths and areas of need, and treatment recommendations.
For speech-only evaluations, please contact me to determine a prorated rate.
$100 / 60 minutes
$50 / 30 minutes
Travel is billed at $50 per hour, round-trip
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be assessed 50% of the session fee. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. In the event of a no-show, or cancellation at the time of the appointment, the full session amount including travel fees will be charged.
